Dilsara’s professional journey began at the age of 16, working part-time at the Submarine Diving Centre in Unawatuna—a premier 5-Star PADI Dive Center founded by his family and managed alongside his father, Shirly M. Koralage.
In the beginning, Dilsara’s focus was driven by a passion for visual storytelling. While he captured beautiful imagery on land, he quickly specialized in underwater photography in Sri Lanka, mastering the challenging art of capturing deep-sea marine life and sunken historic shipwrecks at an exceptionally early age.
While documenting the ocean through his lens, Dilsara discovered a profound love for the art of teaching. Watching students experience the magic of the underwater world for the very first time sparked a clear mission.
At age 18, he officially entered the professional PADI track. Balancing rigorous training with deep hands-on experience, he climbed the ranks at an unprecedented pace:
